Welcome

Welcome to Spartan Country

The Class of 2012 just surpassed $2.5 Million in scholarships, and the number keeps rising!  Congratulations, seniors!

Thank you for your continued support of Camelback High School.  As the end of the year quickly approaches, we begin to ramp up!   Enrollment will continue through the spring and into the summer.  If you plan to enroll at Camelback or are considering CBHS as one of your options, please stop by our counseling department to visit with a counselor and set up a shadow date for your son or daughter.  The only way to really learn about a campus, its curriculum, and its climate is to experience it firsthand.  All prospective incoming students are welcome!

As stated above, the senior class has almost hit $2.1 million in scholarships.  Congratulations to the Class of 2012 for your accomplishments, and thanks to our amazing counselors for assisting our seniors with university and scholarship applications.

Camelback is very proud to announce the opening of Camelback Montessori College Preparatory (CMCP) in August of 2012.  Through a rigorous application process, CBHS has recently offered admissions to its first group of Montessori students!  We have now begun our waiting list for CMCP!  Candidates have come from throughout the Valley - from private and public schools, district and charter schools, both Montessori and non-Montessori.  We continue to accept applications and interview prospective candidates.  If your son or daughter wishes to apply, the application can be found below.  You can mail or drop off the application at any time.  But the sooner the better to secure a place near the top of the waiting list.  If your son or daughter applies and is not chosen (or is placed on the waiting list), we strongly encourage you to still consider CBHS.  This is truly an amazing place to be for all students!

Our School of Game Design, Engineering, Architecture, Robotics, Sustainability (GEARS) continues to flourish. Congratulations to a group of our GEARS engineers on being chosen to present at a national conference this summer in Kansas City!  Our new night school, Camelback Virtual School, has enabled us to recruit and retain students who benefit from online learning in a "blended" model.  Advisory continues to have a dramatic impact on campus climate.  Student involvement is at an all-time high.  Clubs offerings have increased significantly and our sports programs are experiencing great success.

Academically, we continue to focus on improving our curriculum, instruction, and course offerings.  We have doubled our AP offerings (from 7 to 14).  We have implemented the ACT Quality Core standards into all of our courses to ensure rigor at all levels.  We officially became a nationally certified AVID school.

These represe
nt just some of the many initiatives on campus.  Through the support of local community organizations, especially Social Venture Partners and the Camelback Alumni Association, we will continue to maximize our resources and improve our academics, athletics, and activities.

Finally, we want to continue to thank you for your support and patience as we get our webiste back up and running.  As you know, PUHSD, including Camelback High School, lost its website this year and has spent this entire year rebuilding its contents.  We will continue to upload content, both new and old, to ensure that our site is an efficient means of communication for staff, students, parents, & community.

Please continue read through our website to learn more about the many amazi
ng things happening at CBHS!
